Cut the Pattern

Use small craft scissors to carefully cut shapes along the folded edges of the paper wedge. Small triangles, circles, diamonds, and curved cuts can create interesting patterns when the paper is opened. Make each cut slowly and carefully to maintain control over the design.

Try combining different shapes and sizes to give your snowflake a unique appearance. Small cuts usually create delicate details, while slightly larger cuts can produce bold openings. Avoid making too many cuts close together because the paper may become weak and tear.

Most importantly, do not cut away the entire folded edge. Leave enough of the edge intact to hold the snowflake together. Once you finish cutting, gently unfold the paper to reveal the complete symmetrical snowflake pattern.
