DIY Step 2: Choose and Cut the Fabric

Select a fabric that suits the room. Lightweight fabrics allow more sunlight, while thicker or blackout fabrics provide better privacy and insulation. Lay the fabric on a flat surface and cut it according to your measurements using sharp fabric scissors.
DIY Step 3: Iron the Fabric

Iron the fabric before sewing to remove wrinkles and ensure accurate measurements. Smooth fabric makes cutting and sewing much easier.
DIY Step 4: Fold and Pin the Side Hems

Fold each side edge inward about ½ inch, then fold again another ½ inch to hide the raw edges. Secure the folds with pins or fabric clips.
