Hywind Scotland project

The Hywind Scotland project represents a landmark achievement in renewable energy, as it became the world’s first commercial floating offshore wind farm. Located approximately 25 kilometers off the coast of Peterhead in northeastern Scotland, the project was commissioned in 2017 and consists of five floating wind turbines with a combined capacity of 30 megawatts (MW). One of the most innovative aspects of the project is its floating foundation technology.
